TERMS  CONDITIONS:
Battle of the School Choirs  

1. Eligibility: The competition is open to school choirs from primary and secondary schools.
2. Entry Requirements: Entry is free but subject to selection based on a submitted audition video to be posted to The Grove Mall Social Media using the Hastag #BattleoftheSchoolChoirsTGM
All entries must be submitted by a school representative (choir conductor, teacher, or principal).
The entry deadline is , 30 June 2025 and late submissions will not be accepted.
Each school may submit only one choir.
3. Performance Guidelines: Choirs must perform two pieces: one of their own choices and one from a prescribed list (to be provided after selection).
Performances must not exceed 8 minutes total.
No offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content is allowed in lyrics, costumes, or performance.
4. Event Rules: The finale of the competition will be held live at The Grove Mall on 30 August 2025.
All choirs must arrive at least 1 hour before their scheduled performance time.
Schools are responsible for the safety and supervision of their learners throughout the event.
5. Judging & Prizes: A panel of qualified judges will score performances based on vocal quality, harmony, stage presence, creativity, and audience engagement.
The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Additional prizes may be awarded at the organizers’ discretion.
6. Conduct: All participants must demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect toward fellow choirs, judges, staff, and mall patrons.
Any misconduct may result in disqualification.
7. Media & Promotion: By entering the competition, schools grant The Grove Mall and its partners permission to photograph, film, and publish performances and event-related content for promotional purposes.
No additional compensation will be provided for media use.
8. Liability: The Grove Mall, its sponsors, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the event.
Schools participate at their own risk and are encouraged to have necessary insurance coverage.
9. Cancellations & Changes: The Grove Mall reserves the right to postpone, cancel, or modify the event format at its discretion.
Any changes will be communicated promptly to participating schools.
